About Us
Reiser
Relief Inc. is a volunteer run non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation founded
by
Father Bernard Reiser, who has been involved with Haiti outreach
programs for over 13 years; Bringing Hope To Haiti. Reiser
Relief is based in Coon
Rapids, MN and its mission is to help the
impoverished people of the Caribbean country of
Haiti, the poorest country in the
Western Hemisphere. The social and environmental problems are
the
greatest challenges the people of Haiti are facing today.
In the midst of these problems, we are compelled to provide the
essential services to aid in day-to-day survival. The services we
provide include: fresh water delivery, food centers, and housing,
primary grade education and eldercare facilities. Many projects
are in or near Cite Soleil; the suburb of the Haitian capital of Port
au Prince.
One of our original programs that we sponsored was the Village of
Jesus, located in the mountain area of Leoganes. There we built a
center
caring for abandoned women who have no place to live. It
currently has dormitories, laundry facilities, kitchen, dining area and
bathrooms to accommodate these women.
With your support, our school programs provide hope that comes with an
education for a better future. Children receive a daily meal at
school and for many, this is their only meal for the day. We engage in
building and supporting school classrooms and sanitary blocks for
sewage. Your donations provide for so much; salaries for teachers, text
books, food, uniforms and hope. Reiser Relief supports two
primary schools namely Terre Promise & Reiser Heights Primary.
We assisted in building and supporting medical community centers and
sanitary blocks for sewage. We also support clinics and small hospitals
in Cite Soleil. The number one cause for illnesses is the lack of
clean water and our water deliver program brings life-saving water
daily to those in need. Fresh water is obtained from deep wells and
trucked to the areas of need.
The water truck operates six days a week making four deliveries too
many neighborhoods in Cite Soleil and reaching numerous impoverished
families where the local people carry the water home in 5 gallon
buckets. With your help, we can affect thousands of lives for
they can not afford to purchase the water on their own, without the
water we supply to these impoverished people they can not survive.
With the Grace of our living God and help of our donors, in 2008 Reiser
Relief partnered with Healing Haiti a non-profit organization and
together we purchased 16 acres of land, to build Grace Village. It will
be a little city of peace including Maranatha Orphanage for
handicapped, deaf, orphaned and abandoned poor children living in
severe poverty. A separate facility will be constructed that will
provide for the elderly. We are pleased to share that in 2009 the
ground breaking has begin for Grace Village, please
see
the
video.
The people of Haiti
await your generous response and pray for God's
abundant blessings upon you.
We are committed to providing essential services to aid in day-to-day
survival of thousands. We live among abundance, the Haitians in extreme
poverty.
Help me to help them.
Love and Prayers,
Father Reiser

Accomplishments
Below is small list of our past
accomplishments and through faith in God and your continued generosity
in supporting Reiser Relief Inc. is appreciated beyond explanation.
2005
The St. Nicholas
Knights of Columbus Council #12520 of New Market, Minnesota purchased a
semi-tractor and trailer equipped with two stainless steel tanks
capable of holding 3500 gallons of water.
2006
Reiser Relief Inc.
collaborated with Jeff & Alyn
Gacek of Healing Haiti organization who direct the
programs in Haiti.
Reiser Heights Primary School - With your
generous donations, Jeff & Alyn broke ground on a 4-room
school addition, a 30,000-gallon cistern to collect clean water off the
roof of the school, a 4-stall sanitary block (concrete outhouse) and a
kitchen to replace the tin shack that was being used to prepare food
for the children.
2007
Your donations help
us to continuing the support of a 3500 gallon water truck delivering
364,000 gallons of clean water each month for free in the slums of Cite
Soleil.
With the help of ECOsmarte Corporation, we shipped a
second 2500 gallon water truck to Haiti that will bring clean
water to the slum of Jeremy Wharf, outside of Port au Prince on
top of a garbage dump.
Began supporting a small orphanage in the village of
Titanyen, Maranatha House Orphanage is a Christian based
orphanage for 30 children who live in two 8x10 rooms.
2008
Reiser Relief
delivered over 4,000,000 gallons of clean water to the poor in the slum
of Cite Soleil.
Reiser Relief's water trucks have delivered four
3,500 gallon loads of water, 6 days a week, 52 weeks per year to
thousands of families. That is the equivalent of 800,000 five gallon
buckets of water each year.
Reiser Relief delivered two shipping containers
totaling 432,342 meals donated by "Feed My Starving Children" to feed
the
people of Haiti. For many children, their meal at school is the
only meal they will receive. We are so very grateful for this
food but most don’t realize the substantial cost for the shipping and
customs fees that can exceed $10,000.
This food was
distributed to our many Haiti projects located at Lespinasse,
Cite
Soleil,
Leogonne,
Jacmel,
and
Titanyen.
- 300 children at Reiser Heights Primary School
- 425 children at Terre Promise Primary School
- 300 children at Village of Jesus
- 300 children at Christ's Love Center
- 30 children at Maranatha House Orphanage
With your, assistance Reiser Relief paid teachers
salaries at two schools: Reiser Heights in Lespinasse and Terre Promise
in Cite Soleil. A total of 725 children, who otherwise would not have
been able to have gone to school, benefited and went for free or very
little charge because of this support.
Reiser Relief partnered with Healing Haiti
non-profit organization and
purchased 16 acres of land to build Grace
Village.
This will be a little city of peace including Maranatha
Orphanage for handicapped, deaf, orphaned and abandoned poor children
living in severe poverty.
A separate facility will be constructed
that will provide for the elderly. The cost of the land
approximately $34,000 and an estimated construction cost of $200,000
for the first phase.
2009
This year has been a
little more of the struggle with the difficulties of the economy, but
with trust in God, we have been able to continue to
support
our
numerous projects. Lack of funding has resulted in only using one
of
the two truck to provide fresh drinking water. One Reiser
Relief's water
truck still runs 6 days a week, 52 weeks per year to thousands of
families in need.
Reiser Relief delivered one shipping containers
totaling 273,000 mea ls donated by "Feed My Starving Children" to feed
the
people of Haiti. We are so very grateful for this food that was
distributed to our schools and orphanages.
Provide the teachers salaries that educate over 1000
children attending school at Reiser
Heights in
Lespinasse and Terre Promise in Cite Soleil.
With your support funds we supported another
orphanage and delivered beds to an orphanage without beds.
The ground breaking for Grace Village took place and
currently is progress as of December. The first foundations will
be the girls and boys dormitory, a feeding center and digging a new
cistern. It should be noted the workers were having difficulty
because the land is so rocky. They pounded under the
hot sun with
sledge hammers to break up the rock. It is difficult and demanding
work. Please pray for strength and health for the workers at Grace
Village.
2010
A New
Year Begins
Emergency
Haiti Earthquake Relief Urgently Needed! The
Caribbean nation of
Haiti was hit by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake, it’s the
most powerful earthquake in more than 200 years and causing what

The quake struck shortly before 5 p.m on January 12,
2010
and was centered about 10 miles southwest of
Port-au-Prince, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Many of Reiser Relief projects are so close to this epicenter. We
hope to hear more from our Reiser Relief staff in Haiti, but
as
you
can
imagine
so
many
buildings
